Travel with a toddler

I travel for work 2 or 3 times a month for about 2 or 3 days at a time and i try to bring my 16 month old son with me if I can.  Owen has made 39 round trip flights in his life and I have a 4 year old who has made more then I can count.   For me these are the top 10 Toddler essentials when traveling by plane.

10. Mashups
Organic fruit in an easy to eat snack that is no mess! You can find them at Target.

9. I-pad w/ toddler apps
The I-pad not only has great apps for the small people you can also download your son or daughters favorite books.

8. No spill Bowls
You can fill these bad boys up with snacks and your toddler cant spill them all over. You can get them at Target.

7. Dum dum's
These are just the best! They can help with the change of air pressure on the ears or give you a way to keep them happy for some time and they are the best bribe.

6. Tylenol
For the truck size migraine you get from the 50/50 chance your toddler will act like an insane monkey.

5. Hand Sanitizer
All i am going to say is i have 5 reasons i always travel with this magic in a bottle. 
3. mile high club (yuck to the things people do on planes)
2. My son rolling around on airport floors
1. not having to deal with a drenching washing hands on the plane and airport ( see 6 for reason why)

  

4.Dinosaur Squishimal Set 

 This set of squishy dinosaurs are a fun toy for toddlers [and grown-ups as well]. They are made of very soft rubber. So because they are soft they will not hurt when thrown and will not pock your eye out.

3. Extra Shirt for you
Always travel with dark colors on because with a toddler you just never know. I always bring an extra shirt for me and I use it about 30% of the time. 

2. Window seat
Always get a window seat! the extra distraction of what is going outside and the 1 inch of more space is a must have in my book!

Man Time

  I don't know what it is but in my experience men have no sense of time. For example Mr. Real Estate will spend 2 hours with his son and then go on and on about how he had him all day. Two hours is not all day lets get that point across first it is two hours. At the same time Mr. Real Estate will say he is going to meet (Toby's dad) for a drink and be back in 2 hours and comes back four hours later. How dose that work that the internal clock of a man can't run like real clock and is so off one way or the other? If you ask me it has to do with the fun factor.........

It's a good thing you like Knee socks

As i may have made clear in other post my daughter is a spirited young girl! That being said it's a good thing she likes knee socks because she will be attending catholic school k-12 because she needs the discipline all day not just at home. I would also like to see some of that catholic guilt rub off on her as well.

So you might ask what is the event that took place to send Mr. Real Estate and i over the edge? Let me tell you it was a proud moment for us and i hope you will understand why. After Soccer we took Bailey out for brunch and Coach Kelly out for a bloody Mary and talked about our favorite subject Halloween. Bailey then broke out into song and i will let the words of the song lead you down the direction of what she did not once, not twice but three times in a row. Even the threat of no Halloween and time out did not work to stop the madness she had to be carried out.

I don't know what it is but my daughter has a particular taste for clothes that look like a BaDazzler went crazy on them. I don't know what it is but her taste screams my mom has a BaDazzler and probably also has state fair hair. I always thought i would get to guide her taste down the Ralph Lauren, j-crew, Burberry and Kate Spade road I have loved for my entire life. No joke from the time i could pick out my clothes i had the same taste so it must be hard wired into our souls. The sad thing is i judge me for the cloths she puts on in the morning. Dear god one only knows what her prom dress will look like. On the up side she is now putting cloths on everyday.

And I am back......

After 6 weeks of being a mother of two i am back to the real world. I wanted my first blog back to be the top 10 things i have learned over the past 6 weeks, because it has been eye opening......

10. Boys are little men from day one

9. Having your two year old tell people at target she has to go home and pump her boobs is priceless.

8. Rocking a one piece swimsuit is not as old women as i thought....

7. I love infomercials and for my next job i would like to be the star of one!

6. Mr. Real Estate can only stay home alone with two kids for 11 min without freaking.

5. My hair dresser is a god for letting me bring one of my spawn with me when i come in so i don't look homeless.

4. flying with 2 kids was not hard at all. I just had more stuff.

3. shopping online should be outlawed after 3 a.m.

2. I am truly thankful for the MN nice because a MN man will always open a door, grab your cart as it rolls away at target, help you fold a stroller at security and hand you a 20.00 you just dropped.

1. Two children is better then one!
